Russell A. Wyant, 90, of Rushville died Monday, November 28, 2011, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. He was born July 21, 1921 in Knox County, IN, the son of William Lewis and Mary Jane Chanley Wyant. He married Maude Miers and she preceded him in death. He married Maxine Reed Stevens on November 21, 1998 at First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown.

Surviving is his wife Maxine Wyant of Rushville; his daughter Cynthia "Robin" Colglazier of San Luis Obispo, CA; two grandchildren Ashley and Cullen Colglazier; several step-children and grandchildren; and two brothers William and Gaylord Wyant both of Hutsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Esther Byrd; and three brothers Edgar, Melvin, and Dale Wyant.

He served in the US Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. He then graduated from the State University of New York with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Plumbing. He was a member of the American Legion and Calvary Baptist Church in Beardstown. He formerly owned and operated a Massey Ferguson Implement Dealership in Prentice and farmed near Ashland. He retired from Bohn Heat Transfer in Beardstown. Russell was a good father, a hard working man, enjoyed woodworking, remodeling, and construction, and was instrumental in the building of Calvary Baptist Church.

Services were entrusted to Sager Funeral Home of Beardstown, Illinois.
