TWO OLD RESIDENTS CLAIMED BY DEATH

BODIES OF JAMES H. STOCUM AND FRANK ADAMS ARE BROUGHT HERE.

The body of Benjamin Franklin Adams, for many years a resident of Hartford, was brought here yesterday from Kalamazoo where his death occurred last Sunday at the age of 71 years. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church yesterday afternoon, and interment at the old cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in Vermont on Sept. 6, 1848. At the age of thirteen years he enlisted as a drummer boy, serving three years and four months in the Civil War. He came to Michigan in 1870 and was married to Miss Caroline I. Branch of Hartford in 1871. Two children were born to them, a son, who died in April 1893, and a daughter, Mrs. H. R. Allen of Kalamazoo, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Branch were residing at the time of his death. He was stricken with influenza in September, 1918, from the effects of which he never recovered.
