Margaret M. "Maggie" Fassero, 98, of Tovey died at 12:10 pm Saturday, November 25, 2000, in Taylorville Care Center.
She was born August 16, 1902, in Spring Valley, the daughter of Steven and Bernadina Bogetto Fassero. She married Ceasar Joseph Fassero on November 22, 1920, in Carlinville. He died May 12, 1968. She was a clerk for the Secretary of State in Springfield and worked as a cook at the Old Elm Club in Lake Forest, IL. She retired in 1979. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Kincaid.
Surviving are her son, John C. (wife Yole) Fassero of Mishawaka, IN; daughter, Emma (husband Stephen) Dooley of Englewood, CO; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Emma (husband Joe) Bodovich of Tovey; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, James and Dominic Fassero; two sisters, Lena Doglio Collier and Molly Cumerlato.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 28, 2000, in St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid, with Father Jonathan Fassero OSB officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, November 27, in Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid, with Wake Service at 7:00 pm.
