Mary James Acton 1862 - 1922
James enlisted as a Corporal in the 20th Alabama Infantry Company G C.S.A. On April 3, 1862, While home on furlough he became ill and was taken by the "Home Guard" . It is believed that he was taken due to his knowledge of horse theft by "The Home Guard." He was never seen again.
There is also record of his death in a military hospital in Knoxville Tennessee.
James had six brothers who served in the Confederate Army:
