Saint. She was the daughter of Pepin the First of Lander and Blessed Ida. Gertrude decided early to retire to the religous life and became an abbess by the age of 20. She helped out Irish monks and those on pilgrimages. Later on she spent more time studying scripture and contemplation. Was known for visions. Her Feast Day is March 17 and she lived from 626 till 659 AD. She is the Patroness of Cats.
