William Roger Warren, 88 years and 10 months, of 235 Riverside Drive, Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 14, 1921, in Daviess County. He was retired from Tichenor's Gulf as a master mechanic for 60 years. He was an Army Air Force staff sergeant with the 404th Bomb Squadron. He was a member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing music, growing roses, NASCAR and telling stories with a great smile. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Stuart Warren, in 1999 after 49 years of marriage; and three brothers, Laverne Warren, Monroe Warren and Dennis Warren. Survivors include two sons, Dale (Nancy) Warren of Owensboro and Jim (Starla) Warren of Owensboro; a daughter, Sherri (Russell) Kimmel of Centertown; three grandchildren, Layne Kimmel and Lindsay Turner, both of Hartford, and Austin Warren of Owensboro; two great-grandchildren, Carter Kimmel and Talen Turner of Hartford; a brother, Joe Paul (Joyce) Warren of Owensboro; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Warren and Agnes Warren Stuart of Owensboro. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church, with Father Richard Meredith officiating. Visitation at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be Wednesday at Resurrection Cemetery in Owensboro with military honors presented by VFW Post 696 Honor Guard.
