Annie Mae Tidwell - Macon - 102, claimed her life's reward on Wednesday night, June 7, 2006.

Granny Tidwell was the fourth of five children born to Charlie J. Holland and Lilly Mae Callahan Holland of Tift County. The wife of the late William Cicero Tidwell, she was employed by Happ Brothers Manufacturing Co. and was a seamtress at Joseph N. Neel Co. before retiring.

Granny was a member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church, where she was an active member in Sunday School and the Senoir Choir. She also enjoyed membership in the Joy Club, Garden Club and Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed traveling and had many hobbies. Her most outstanding achievements were oil painting and learning to play piano which she started at the age of 81.

Granny shared wonderful stories of her growing up years and beyond, giving advice for a long and healthy life by having faith in the Lord, living a clean life and do for others as the need arises. She was the grandmother of the late William L. Meadows and Charles R. Tidwell, Jr.

She is loved and chrished by her children, Charles R. (Jane) Tidwell of Lizella and Hilda Waldrop of Macon; eight grandchildren; twentyone great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3P.M., Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Macon Memorial Park. The Rev. Jay Meadows and Father Michael Ingram will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday at the funeral home and may be contacted at the residence of Charles Tidwell , 128 Briar Creek Trail, Lizella.
