Naomi was the daughter of Samuel A. and Rebecca Alverta Garber Gaby from Baileyton, Greene County, Tennessee. They relocated to McMinn County between 1920 and '30.

Some of Naomi's siblings were Earl, Howard P., Edith M., Ruth, and Mary Lucille.

Naomi married Elmer Hoyt Woody in Flat Rock, Wayne County Michigan the 13th of December 1952. As far as is known, they did not have children together.

Her obit says she was well known for playing on several ladies fast pitch softball teams. She was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was in an Athens healthcare facility at the time of her passing.
