Funeral services for Mrs. W.T. Carrington who died at her home in Wagner place late Monday afternoon, will be held at the Christian Church tomorrow. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in the family lot of Mr. and Mrs. Howard A. Glass and Mr. Carrington.

Mrs. Carrington, who was 73 years old, died following a serious illness of six weeks. She had been in failing health for some time.

Born in Boone county near Hinton, December 1, 1856, Mary Dillard Holloway was the daughter of John T. and Nancy Batterton Holloway. She was educated in the country schools of Boone County and at the State Teachers College at Kirksville, in preparation for the teaching profession. August 19, 1879, she became the bride of W.T. Carrington. Two sons were born of this union, both of whom with their families, survive the deceased.

Intellectual and gracious in manner, Mrs. Carrington was loved by a host of people. Her gentle, even temper and her splendid character won for her many friends. At an early age she united with the Christian Church and for sixty years lived a life consistent with the teachings of that church. Her disposition to be of service in the church and to help those in need found her engaged in many enterprises with community welfare in mind.

Besides the grief stricken husband and two sons, the deceased leaves a step mother, Alice Benton of Columbia, and three brothers to mourn her death.

They are Rufus Holloway, Dr. J. L. Hollway and John Holloway. A host of friends in Boone County, Cape Girardeau, Mexico and in Springfield, where she had resided, Join with her friends in Jefferson City in paying tribute to her beautiful character.
