Mrs. William G. Carrington, wife of a former state superintendent of schools, died this morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. William Roesen, after a long illness. She had suffered a stroke a short time previously.

Mrs. Carrington was born May 25, 1861 in Warsaw, mo. Her parents were the late Capt. and Mrs. J.L. Keown who came here when Mrs. Carrington was a girl. She was educated in the public schools here.

She was first married to C.B. Howard, who died 25 years ago. She later married Prof. Carrington, a widely known Missouri educator. Mrs. Carrington was a member of the Christian Church and the Letitia Ware Circle of that church. She is survived by her sister and two brothers, John and B.W. Keown, both residents here.

Mr. Carrington served as state superintendent of schools from 1898 to 1906. His death occurred in 1937.
