Last rites for Mrs Myrtle Harlow, 72, of Sundance were held from the Noecker Funeral home in Gillette on Monday, September 5, with the Rev. Robert M Phoenix, paster of the First Presbyterian church, officiating.
Mrs. Harlow passed away at Sundance on September 1. She had been in failing health for the past year. Burial was made at Mt. Pisgah cemetery.
Mrs. Jack Doyle sand, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a friend We Have in Jesus," accompanied by Mrs Lewis Grams at the organ.
Pallbearers were Marvin and Clarence Carter, Harold Shipley, Leon Williams, Harold Rank and Orval Sherand, all of Gillette.
Minnie Myrtle Alexander was born to Henson and Rebecca Alexander at Gallatin, Missouri on September 20, 1897. She was one of eleven children, six of whom preceded her in death.
She was united in marriage to William Lindsay Harlow on June 28, 1908 at Gallatin, Missouri and to this union five children were born. She was preceeded in death by one son, Robert, who was killed in action in France on July 14, 1944.
Mr. and Mrs. Harlow and family moved to Wyoming in January 1926 and homesteaded in the Thunder Basin area where they made their home until 1936, when they moved to Kamiah, Idaho where they resided until 1955. At this time they returned to Wyoming where they made their home near Devils Tower.
Survivors are her husband, three sons, Claude Harlow of Devils Tower; Leo Harlow, Keneth Harlow and one daughter; Mrs. Ruby Bailey all of Gillette; sister, Mrs. Lucy LEe of Topeka Kansas; three brothers, Ira Alexander, Kansas City, Missouri; Paul Alexander of Kamiah Idaho; Claude Alexander of Winterset Iowa, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Those attending the last rites from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Barney Ross and daughter of Roy Utah; Mr and Mrs Archie Miller of Buffalo, Wyoming; and Mr and Mrs John McCormick and family of Winnelka, Illinois.
