Freda Elizabeth Cave was the daughter of Charles Samuel Cave and Clara Maud Heffler.

Freda was killed in the Halifax Explosion with two of her siblings and baby cousin. One of her sisters, Irene Lillian and her parents survived.

At the time of the Explosion, the family lived at 34 Veith Street, Halifax.
It is believed that the surviving members of the family moved out of Halifax shortly after.

Freda is buried with her siblings and cousin in St. John's Cemetery, Halifax.
