Walter B Carr, 83, of 6610 E 13th, died Saturday at Independence Sanitarium. He was born in Oak Grove in Jackson County and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Carr was a ballmaker at Armco Co. 32 years before in retired in 1963. He was a member of the Salvation Army. He was also a member of the Happy Day Golden Age Club and the Minute Circle Friendly House Happy Hour. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Margaret Carr of the home; two sons, Paul C Carr, Kansas City, and David Carr, Des Moines,Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Freeman, Wichita; a brother, Albert Carr, El Dorado, Kans.; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Earp Truman Road Chapel; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel.
