EUNICE - Funeral services were held at 3 p. m. Sunday in First Baptist Church for Jesse Melvin Charlton Sr., 79, retired railroad employee of Eunice, who died at his home at 11 p. m. Friday after a long illness. Burial was in St. Louis Cemetery, directed by Ardoin Funeral Home.
Survivors include his widow, the former Annie Medlin; three sons, Samuel E. of Houston, Tex., Jesse N. Charlton Jr. of New Orleans and George F. Charlton of Minneapolis, Minn., one daughter, Mrs. E. E. Hyatt of Biloxi, Miss., 'two brothers, Lloyd Charlton of Clinton, Ky., and Willard Charlton of Detroit, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
