essie Childress Ellis, 83, of Memphis, retired office manager for Hulsey-Nebhut Cotton Co., died Saturday [February 6, 1893] at Allen Morgan Health Center. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. Memphis Funeral Home Union Chapel has charge. She was a member of First Methodist Church. Mrs. Ellis, the widow of R. Spencer Ellis, also leaves two cousins who cared for her, Margaret C. Fleming of Memphis and H.P. Childress of Germantown. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Allen Morgan Health Center or to the charity of the Donor's choice.
