Le Cloux, Esther M.
Esther M. Le Cloux, 89, Green Bay, passed away early Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, 2009, at a local nursing home. Born June 4, 1919, in Rosiere, she is the daughter of the late William H. and Theresa M. (Le Cloux) Vlies. Esther married Aloysius "Al" Le Cloux on Oct. 19, 1938, at Holy Martyrs of Gorcum Church and he preceded her in death on July 13, 1995. She retired from Larsen's after 35 years of faithful service. Esther and Al were members of the "Happy Hoppers" Polka Club. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and the Brown County Senior Center well into her 80's. Esther was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish and a member of the Altar Society. She loved to cut grass, shovel her drive and take long walks. Esther loved to spend time crocheting and reading but most of all she loved her family; she gave generously to them of her time and of herself.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Mae Gerarden, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Le Cloux, Pulaski; four grandchildren, Rick (Lisa) Gerarden, Rochelle Gerarden, Jason Le Cloux, all of Green Bay; Nathan Le Cloux, Monroe, La.; seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Jo Gerarden, Nicole (Pat) O'Brien, Dylan, Brandon, Kylie, and Marshall Le Cloux, Brandon Miles; one great-great-grandson, Sean O'Brien; two brothers, William (Eleanor) Vlies, New Franken; Lloyd (Janice) Vlies, Cedarburg; one sister, Mary Ann (John) Thompson, Green Bay; her canine companion, Korky; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws.
She is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Harold Gerarden; a grandson, Randy Gerarden; one brother, Earl Vlies; two sisters, Emily Bickel and Magdelen Johnson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral. SS Peter and Paul Altar Society will recite the Rosary in church prior to the funeral. Funeral 4 p.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Church. Entombment in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
