Cpl. LaPrade D. Brown as an Illinois National Guardsman called to federal service as a member of B Company, 192nd Tank Battalion. He fought on Bataan, against the Japanese, from December 1941 to April 1942.
On April 9, 1942, he became a Prisoner of War and took part in the death march. He was held as a POW at Camp O'Donnell, Cabanatuan and Bilibid Prison. He became ill and died while a POW.
