DEATH VISITS J. E. JOHN HOME MONDAY
Mrs. Jehu John dies Monday Evening at Six O'Clock from Tumor of the Brain--Was in Ill Health for Year and a Half--Life-long Resident of Elida--Funeral Wednesday at Twp O'Clock at M. E. Church.
A kind loving wife and mother passed away Monday evening when Mrs. J. E. John was called to her reward at six o'clock after an illness of a year and a half at her home in Elida. Her death came as a result from a tumor on the brain from which she suffered greatly until she passed away. She was sixty-one years, one month and thirteen days of age when her death occurred.
Mrs. Emma Myers was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Meyers, now long deceased. She was born one mile north of Elida on November 26, 1866. When the deceased lady was two years of age, the family moved into Elida where they established their home. On July 5, 1884, she was united in marriage to Jehu John at the home of her brother, L. M. Myers by Rev. Longfellow, then pastor of the M. E. church. Her entire life was spent at Elida. She was favorably known at Elida and surrounding country and her many friends are sorry to learn of her demise. Heartfelt sympathies are being extended to the bereaved relatives by her many friends.
Surviving to mourn her death ate her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Irvin Sherrick and two brothers, David Myers and Eli Myers, all of Elida.
Funeral service will take place Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church, of which she was a faithful and devote member for the past forty years. Rev. Walley, pastor of the church, Rev. F. L. Hook, of Toledo, and Rev. Shellhaus, of Carey, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be made in the mausoleum at Greenlawn.
