Mrs. Benjamin W. Preble, 81, of North Whitefield, died Saturday evening, March 15, at a nursing home in Manchester after a short illness.
She was born April 26, 1877, at Pittston, daughter of Reuben and Mary Ann McGugan Blackman, moving to North Whitefield at the age of three, where she has been a resident for 78 years.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Reuben Blackman, Jr., North Whitefield, and Mrs. N. F. Haskell, Branch Mills; an aunt, Mrs. Thomas McGugan, Augusta, two nieces, and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18, 2:00 p.m. at her home at Preble Corner, No. Whitefield, with Rev. Robert Cumlee, of the Randolph Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Preble Cemetery, North Whitefield in the Spring.
