JOICE--Friends and neighbors of Miss Verna Preble were very much shocked and grieved to hear of her passing away after a few days' illness of pneumonia. Verna was a dear girl of unusual personality. She was very near and dear to her neighbors and friends. She was a senior in the Gardiner High School and would have graduated in June. Deep sympathy is felt for her mother and father and other relatives.
Miss Verna May Preble died Wednesday at the home of her cousin, Wilbur Preble, in Gardiner, her death being due to pneumonia. Her home was in Whitefield, and she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Preble of that town. She was a member of the senior class of Gardiner High School, and she has resided at her cousin's home, while attending school. She was 19 years of age.
