Zach was currently a freshman at Kiel High School.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping and sitting down at the river.
Survivors include his father, Stephen (Dawn) McDonald, Kiel; his mother, Julie Carlson, Blue Island, Ill.; his sisters, Cassandra (Jason) MacDonald, Sheboygan; and their son Elijah, Brittany McDonald, Sheboygan; and Alexis McDonald, Kiel; paternal grandparents, Richard (Marie) McDonald, Plymouth; Allyson (James) Howard, Spring Lake, Mich.; maternal grandmother, Teri Maxey, Sheboygan; grandparents, Lawrence (Rosemary) Chaltry, Kiel; great-grandmother, June McDonald, Alpena, Mich.; his uncles, Dan (LeAnn) McDonald, John and Adam Howard, all of Mich.; his aunt, Colleen Cole, Tex.; his cousins, Cameron Cole, Mitchel McDonald, Malique and Ebby Cooly and his stepsister, Jessica Miller, Kiel.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother and great-grandfather.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at the Meiselwitz - Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel, with Rev. Fred Coleman officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery.
