Ardis R. Scott, 79, of Rockford died at 9:16 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at SwedishAmerican Hospital.
Born March 8, 1932, in Peshtigo, WI, daughter of Edward and Jenny (Albright) Race. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and later taught for many years in the Green Bay, WI area. Ardis married Leslie J. Scott on June 27, 1964, in Rockford; he died Jan. 25, 2005. In addition to being an avid Cubs and Bears fan, Ardis enjoyed butterflies and bird watching, particularly hummingbirds and cardinals. Spending time with her family was very important to Ardis.
She is survived by children, David (Kathy) Scott of Rockford, Bonnie (Rodney) Riffle of Tomah, WI, Kris (James) Roberts of Phil Campbell, AL, John (Lianne) Scott of Geneva, FL, Karen (Noel) Blevins of Phil Campbell, AL, Kevin (Valerie) Scott and Randy (Kate) Scott both of Loves Park; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Elmer Race; numerous nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by parents; and brothers, Earl, John and Joe Race.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd. Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with Doctor Ron Meyer officiating. Private family burial.
