Founder of Diana Sweets Restaurants. Emigrated from Sparta, Greece to Chicago in 1900, where he sold fruit and vegetables from a pushcart. He and his brothers moved to Toronto in 1912 and went into candymaking business. First Diana Sweets restaurant opened 181 Yonge Street and was named after Diana, goddess of the hunt. Active in the business until 1960.
