Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia A. Cooper, wife of the late Orchard F. Cooper, were held from her late home in Chelsea at 2 o'clock, Sunday, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives. Services were conducted by Ref. A. T. McWhorter. There were two selections, "The Pearly White City" and "My Heavenly Home," sung by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cooper, Elwin Cooper and Mrs. Margaret Rackliff, accompanied by Mrs. Elwin Cooper. Mrs. Cooper passed away Friday evening, June 10, after a lingering illness of two years.

She was 77 years of age and always a loving mother and a kind neighbor. "Grammie" Cooper as she was known among the old and young, will not only be missed by relatives but by a large circle of friends. Her greatest pleasure was found in the making of friends.

There was a profusion of beautiful flowers giving silent tribute to the esteem and respect in which she was held. Interment was at the Preble Cemetery in Whitefield. On Nov. 12, 1868, she was united in marriage to Orchard F. Cooper. They had always made their home in Chelsea where Mr. Cooper conducted a store. To them five children were born: John Colby of Winthrop, Chester Ray of Augusta, Manley Ellsworth and Grover Welcome of Chelsea, who with his wife reside at the homestead; one daughter, Mrs. Nettie Cunningham of Chelsea; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Holmes of Auburn and Mrs. Ida McFadden of Lynn, Mass., besides 14 grandchildren and one great grandson.
