GARDINER--Grover W. Cooper, 52, Chelsea, a member of the House of Representatives in 1931, died at the Gardiner General Hospital Friday night. Mr. Cooper suffered a shock four years ago and never fully recovered. He had served his town as first selectman and operated the Chelsea general store. In 1917 he was a member of the draft board. He was a member of the Augusta lodge, F. and A. M. Born in Chelsea, May 13, 1888, he was the son of Orchard F. and Cynthia McDonald Cooper.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Nettie Cunningham of Chelsea; two brothers, Manley E. of Chelsea and Chester R. of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Laura Cooper of Readfield and 10 nieces and nephews. [Contributor: Whitefield Historical Society #47663682]
