John was born and raised in Kansas City and lived there all of his life.

He enlisted in the Marines 8 May 1965 at the Kansas City Recruiting Office.

Upon arriving in Vietnam, John was assigned to the 2nd Platoon with 3rd Force Recon, 3rd Force Recon Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. John drowned when the recon team attempted to cross a

flooded river while on a recon patrol, during Operation Prairie IV and 6 kilometers southwest of Ca Lu Airfield.

John was single and served his country for 2 years and 22 days and KIA #13,080.

Tour of duty date unknown.

John was 20 years, 4 months and 8 days old.

Survived by his parents, James and Mary Cabrini and his sister (name unknown) of 5505 Peck Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri and brother and sister-in-law; James and Sara D Cabrini Jr of 7 West 91st St, Kansas City, Missouri.
