Rachel was the youngest daughter of Steve and Margo (Harvey) Thomas, and sister of Jessie. An amazing friend with a zeal for joy and mischief, Rachel enjoyed being active in her school, community, and church. Rachel was a member of the Greencastle Middle School Band, volleyball team, basketball team (she was SO excited to have made the 7th grade "A" team!), and was secretary of the French Club. She was also a member of Greencastle Presbyterian Church and its youth group. In the summer of 2001, Rachel was a member of the team from Greencastle to win the state competition at Indiana History Day and her team went on to represent Indiana at the national competition for History Day. She was also a four-year member of 4-H. Rachel and her sister Jessie both died as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
