From the Winona Republican-Herald dated Tuesday, June 19, 1928:

Louis Dionysius, Sr., Resident of County for 60 Years, Dead

Louis Dionysius, Sr., died at 4:45 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lizetta Prange, 552 East Wabasha Street, at the age of 92 years.

He was born in Curhessen, Obern-Kirchen, Germany in 1836, and came to America with his parents at the age of 14 years. Mr. Dionysius was engaged in farming in Illinois, until 1868, when he removed to the town of Hart in Winona county, where he farmed until 1881.

In 1865, he married Miss Charlotte Ronnenberg of Randolph county, Illinois. The couple lived together for more than 60 years. Mrs. Dionysius having passed away 10 years ago.

Mr. Dionysius is survived by six children, 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The children are Louis Dionysius, Jr., 473 East King Street, John Dionysius, Mrs. Prange, with whom he had lived since the death of his wife; Mrs. Joseph Frank, 528 East King Street; Mrs. Henry Schaffer, 473 East Fourth Street, Mrs. William Kurth, 501 East Howard Street. Fred Brandt, 477 East Sanborn Street, is a son-in-law.
