STUART MILO STRIEGEL was born on April 10, 1921 in rural Grant County, ND, south of Carson, ND to John and Ella (Tystad) Striegel on their home place. He grew up in the ranching and farming life, attended Cedar grade school and graduated from Leith High School in 1939. He continued his life's work on the ranch after high school. Stuart was united in marriage to Irene Ackerman in Heil, ND on June 21, 1948. They began their life together at the ranch and raised a family of three children.

Stuart was involved on several boards, including the hospital, township and school boards. His family was first and foremost in his life, followed closely with ranching and farming. Stuart was a kind, wonderful and special man who will be greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to have known him.

He was devoted to his ranch and his family, both of which flourished under his gentle guidance. His family values live on in his children and grandchildren. Stuart had a special relationship with each of his grandchildren who idolized him and they enjoyed spending time with him "on the farm".

Stuart Striegel passed away at the Jacobson Memorial Hospital in Elgin, ND on Sept. 24, 2008.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children, Wanda (Gene) Walch, Underwood, ND, Cheryl Kienzle, of Mandan, ND and Doug Striegel, Carson, ND and his four grandchildren, Sarah Walch, Mandan, ND, Ryan Walch, St. Louis Park, MN, Neuley Kienzle, Mandan and Toby Kienzle, Seattle, WA.

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Irene and his brother, John Striegel.
