OBITUARY (Ponca City News, Nov. 23, 1951)

Mrs. Morgan Died at Local Hospital
Mrs. Eliabeth Morgan, 76, 615 South Osage, a Ponca City resident for 21 years, died late Thursday night at the Ponca City Hospital. She had been in ill health for some time.

Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the E.M. Trout and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas O. Moehle, rector of the Grace Episcopal Church, in charge.

Burial is to be in the family lot at the IOOF Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan was born April 24, 1875, at Des Moines, Ia. Her husband, John Morgan, preceded her in death here Jan. 10, 1941.

Survivors include two daughters, Miss Eunice Morgan and Mrs. Anne Oulds, and a son, Will Morgan, all of the home address, and a grandson, Alfred Oulds, 332 South Peachtree.

PONCA CITY--Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan, 76, Ponca City resident for 21 years, were here Saturday.

Mrs. Morgan died late Saturday in the Ponca City hospital. She was born April 24, 1875, at Des Moines.

Survivors include Miss Eunice Morgan and Mrs. Alfred Oulds, and a son, Will Morgan, all of the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan, 76, 615 South Osage, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the E. M. Trout and Sons Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Thomas O. Moehle, rector of the Grace Episcopal Church.

Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Brooks, Bill Hughes, Oren Reeder, Eunice Burrow, Ershel Redd and H.F. Wilberg.

Lizzy and John married in Cleveland, Lucas County, Iowa in 1895. At the time of the 1900 census, they lived in Jackson, Lucas County where John was employed as a mine laborer, but according to the census John and Lizzy owned their home free and clear.

By 1910, the family had moved to Lafayette, Boulder County, Colorado (another mining town). By 1915, the family had moved to Butte, Montana, where John became employed as a Kelly Press Operator for the Timber Butte Mill. They lived at 307 East Front and then by 1917, were boarding at 614 South Montana. John was at this time employed as a repairman for the Mill. By 1930, John had moved to San Diego and Lizzie had moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma, where she lived with her daughter Eunice Morgan.

Lizzie's nephew was the American labor leader and president of the United Mine Workers from 1920-1960, John Llewellyn Lewis (Find a Grave 19560).
