Funeral Services for Donald Maltby Jr.of ELk City was conducted at Assembly of God Church on Jan.29,at 2 p.m. with Rev.Charles Shugart officiating.Burial at Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Martin Funeral Home.
Don was born May 21,1961 in Elk City and died in West Shore Hospital in Manistee,Mich.He was 18 yrs.of age.He had gone to visit a friend and was killed when struck by a car while walking along a roadway at night.He left Okla.at age 7 yrs old and moved to Arkansas with his parents whom worked for Shell Oil for 1 yr.,then his family moved to Manistee,Michigan for 8 yrs.Then they moved with their job to Mississippi for a time.The last year and half he lived in Elk City.He had worked in the Oilfield in Elk City and Alexadria,La.Survivors include his father Donald J.Maltby Sr.and Jeannie of Alexandria,La.His mother Mrs.Larry (Earlene)Abercrombie of Elk City,a sister Jeanna Armstrong of Monticello,Miss.,three stepbrothers,Mickey Abercrombie,of Elk City,Jimmy Porter of Bryan,Tx,and Marty Porter of Tyler,Tx.two stepsisters, Kelli Abercrombie of Elk City,and Charmaine Porter of Tyler,his paternal grandmother Mrs.Cora Maltby of Elk City,his maternal grandparents Mr.and Mrs.Howard Wilsie of Carter,an uncle Kenneth Wilsie of Borger,Tx.,and one aunt Linda Doshier of Elk City.
