A former member of a unit of the 169th Regiment, Connecticut Na­tional Guard, Corporal MacLeod enlisted federal service February 18, 1941 and went overseas In October. 1942. He died January 20 of wounds received,In action on Luzon, January 18.
Corporal MacLeod had been awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge ,A personal citation for gallantry. and a Presidential Unit Citation.
