"Miss Carrie Jane Francisco, who died in Knoxville on Saturday evening, May 20th, 1911, was born in Abingdon, VA., where her father was an elder in the Presbyterian church, in 1875. She was a descendant of Peter Francisco and of the Spottswoods in Virginia, being the fourth daughter of Robert L. Francisco of Aberden, Miss., and of Keziah Black, of Blacksburg, VA. While still of tender years she united with the Presbyterian church of Blacksburg, VA. She was educated at Winston-Salem, N.C. Hers was a sweet Christian faith and she delighted to use her gift of singing, with the loved hymns of the church. During her seven years of residence in Knoxville where she was a member of the First Presbyterian church, she was at different times a member of various church choirs. Her early death brings deep sympathy to her sisters from all who knew her. Her sisters are Miss Mary Francisco, of the McCallie school, Knoxville; Mrs. H. R. Brown, of Greeneville, Tenn., and Mrs. W. A. Porter of Greensboro, N. C.
Funeral services were held at the late residence on Vine avenue, Knoxville, last Monday evening, and at Greeneville, which was the place of interment, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Josiah Sibley, of the First Presbyterian church, Knoxville, officiating, assisted by the Rev. M. Watson of Bristol."
