Archie Henry Harvey, Jr. (Dick to family and life-long friends) Born 1-8-1920. Second child and only son of Archie H. Harvey, Sr. and Annie Kate Pulliam Harvey. Had a twin brother, Calvin, who died in infancy. Archie almost died as well, but survived with the loving care of his family.
Joined the Army at the onset of WWII, left Army when the war was over. Re-entered the military by joining the Airforce pre-Korean war, served during Korea and Vietnam Wars. Retired from Airforce.
Survived by wife, Venida "Billye" Blockcolski Hancock Harvey and daughter, Jana Chelyene Harvey, both of the home. Sons Gayen Hancock of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Robert "Butch" Hancock of Frederick, Oklahoma; Daughters Patricia Hancock of Eden, North Carolina and Marcia Hancock Young,of Wisconson; 11 grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Retired from Feildcrest Mills, Inc. as an Industrial Engineer.
Died in Vetrans Hospital, Durham, NC due to complications that arose during open-heart surgery.
