You show Marshall Nail as having an "S" on the end of his name--exactly as it appears on the tombstone!--but that was a typo (for lack of a better word). The actual application for the headstone (supplied by the VA) shows no "S", either on his name or on his widow's signature. Nor does his Social Security application have an "S".
