Charles married 10 May 1883, Marion County, Illinois, Lulu Hammond. They were the parents of Lovell Hull Bell, Lema Hull, & Louise Hull Rodden.

Obituary: Wednesday night of last week, Senator Chas. E. Hull of Salem passed away after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held from the Salem Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'Clock with burial in the Salem cemetery. Senator Hull was one Salem's best-known citizens, having served in the State Senate and other important positions. He was a member of the National Bryan memorial organization and last fall made a trip to Washington City. He was also one of Marion county's largest property owners, having more than 3000 acres of land and more than 500 pieces of Salem real estate. R.A. Ewen of this city attended the funeral.
