THE LINCOLN STAR (Lincoln, Nebraska)- Tuesday, March 28, 1911- Page 4.
(Special to The Star.)
Tecumseh, Neb., March 28.-- James Hungate of Pawnee county has received word that his father, C. H. Hungate, has been stricken with apoplexy at the home of his son, whom he is visiting in Portland, Oregon, and is not expected to live.

THE PAWNEE CHIEF (Pawnee City, Nebraska)- Friday, March 31, 1911- Page 4.
CHARLES H. HUNGATE
Charles H. Hungate was born in McDonough county, Illinois, July 14, 1842. He died on March 20, 1911 in Portland, Oregon, where he had gone a few months before to visit a son. He was sick only a short time. He was at the time of his death 68 years, 8 months and 6 days old, having almost reached the allotted three score and ten. His body was brought back to Pawnee City, where a funeral service was conducted by Rev. L. B. Parker.

Mr. Hungate lived in Pawnee county many years, and he was counted one of our best citizens, being a good father, husband and neighbor. About ten years ago he buried his wife at Burchard, but recently her body was removed to the Pawnee City cemetery.

Mr. Hungate leaves three sons, John F. of Burlington, Kansas, James R. of Pawnee City, and Quinton W. of Portland, Oregon; also one brother, Dallas R. of Summerfield, Kansas, to mourn his departure. He died in the triumps of the Christian faith and leaves behind the testimony that he loved God and so "we sorrow not as those who have no hope."

CARD OF THANKS
