Rogers was born on July 7, 1937, in Logansport, to the late Bernard and Mary Rogers. He proudly served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1641 in Crescent City, Fla., and the Fraternal Order of Police in Kokomo,
He is survived by his son, Charles Rogers II and wife Lisa, Green Cove Springs, Fla.; daughters: Christina Hansen and husband Richard, Jacksonville, Fla., Mary McIntire, Hesperia, Calif., Angel Elcock and husband Keith, Mishawaka, and Gina Martin, Kokomo; sisters Michelle Mehsling, Trinidad, Colo., Kay Ruth Mitchell and Donna Lee Woodruff, both of Logansport, and Sara Sanderson, Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara R. Rogers; son Bernard Rogers; brother Donald Rogers, Charles T. Rogers; and a sister, Kathy Geddis.
A visitation is 2 p.m. Monday followed by the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center Inc., San Mateo, Fla.
