Andrew Collins Sefton was born in Thurmont, Maryland, November 22, 1843 and died March 23, 1912, aged 68 years, 4 months, 1 day. He came to Illinois in 1865. Living in Chicago a few years, then came to Palatine and has been a resident here ever since. He married Bessie Slade of Palatine in Nov. 1869. To them were born three daughters and three sons, two daughters and one son having preceeded their father in death many years. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, two sons, Melvin and Arthur, of Chicago, and one daughter, Mrs. Mae Harris, of Arlington Heights, two sisters and two brothers, also three grandchildren, and a host of friends and neighbors.

Mr. Sefton has been in ill health for two years, and was considerably troubled with dropsy since October. He ate supper with the family on Saturday and after retiring died.

He was a plasterer and mason by trade and first came to Palatine when he secured the contract to plaster the school house, which is to be torn down this summer.

The deceased was of a kind disposition and was never too busy to lend a helping hand.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the late residence and from there to Hillside cemetery. The number of the floral offerings showed in what high regard Mr. Sefton was held.
