On Saturday Morning, September 13, 2014, Paul Frederick Syx, his wife Cynthia Syx, Tim Irwin and I successfully repaired and resurrected the marker at Matilda and Homer's burial site in Greenwood Cemetery, to it's original stature. Although most of the pieces of the marker had been lying on the ground for an unknown length of time, only one small chip was broken out of the top flower bowl. Paul and Tim worked very hard leveling and adhering the monument together. They are both gr gr grandsons of Matilda and William Syx. Months later, after that, I came across a photo of that marker in some photos my Dad, Roy Syx had. Even though it was taken in the 1950s, (he and I had looked at the photo many years ago) he knew nothing about the photo or marker. Odd that he would not known about the burial site of his grandmother but she did pass before he was born.
