Jack V. Newman, 73 of Prineville, Oregon passed away September 14, 2011. In accordance with his wishes, no service will be held.
Jack was born April 26, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Ken and Leona Newman. He entered in the US Navy at 17 and served for 4 years as an airplane mechanic. While he was in the military he married and started a family. After the military, he worked for Douglas Aircraft and the US Forest Service. He went back to school to become an engineer and worked for the City of Klamath Falls until he retired in 1999. After retirement he worked as an armored car driver for Brinks and Luzon. He then went to work for Rams Security as an Armed Guard for the Redmond National Guard until he became ill then totally retired in May 2011. He moved to Prineville in 1999 and then married Cathy Martin (Corrill) on November 13, 2009.
Jack enjoyed horses, fishing, space, reading the Bible, riding his Harley, computers music, reading, body building, running, bicycling, photography and spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife Cathy Newman of Prineville, OR; three sons Jack Newman Jr. of Hillsboro, OR; Ryan Petrey of Cincinnati, OH; Matt Casaubon of Prineville, OR; three daughters Annette Newman of Redmond, OR; Casie Jo Martin of Prineville, OR; Kayla Martin of Prineville, OR; two brothers Don and Gary Newman of California; sister Nancy Hindall of Colorado; 5 grandchildren including granddaughter to come, little Abby; and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Scott Newman.
