Fearn, as she was called, was the first born of three children born to Alfred George Osborn Blenkarn and Katherine "Kittie" Hyland. She had two younger sisters: Vera Ione and Nellie Hyland. Lulu married William Luther Chatham (son of Benjimine Chatham and Mary Buckelew) on 20 Jun 1916 at Kansas City, Missouri. They had one son and one daughter:

William Lawrence
Vera Lois

The following letter was written to the source author on 15 Feb 1972 by Alfred and Katherine's (Kittie) oldest daughter Lulu Eleanor Fearn, who always was known by the name of Fearn. This explains something of what happened to the family
"Dear Dorothy, Your letter was a surprise as I didn't know there was such a person. I knew Uncle Osborn, your grandfather, had lived in Wyoming, but that was about all. My Mother was very fond of Uncle Osborn and his wife Clara. After my Mother passed away my sister and I kept in touch with the Stewarts, but we sort of lost track with all of my many cousins. A few years ago, while on a trip to Canada, I stopped for a few hours with Katherine Kane, she was telling me of some of the family and on my way home through Lusk I spent the night there and said to my friends, 'I have kin fold around here, but where?' My knowledge of the Blenkarn family is all hear say, for my Father died when I was only six and while my Mother kept his image before us, time fades all things. After I married we came to California and it was many years before we returned east on a visit. My husband was born below the Mason & Dixie line in Mississippi, and a grand good husband and father he was. He spent many years in government work and retired at the age of 72 from Port Huenene and Port Magee. My sister Nellie, lived up the coast from here at Ventura, California. She too passed away very suddenly in May of 1932. Since my husband passed away, I have kept house for my daughter Lois. Lois has been a Superior Court Clerk until just a few months ago, when our newly appointed Judge persuaded her to come as his secretary. She lies the new work fine. Her husband, Jerry Moynihan, is principal of one of the schools in Camarillo, California. Lois and Jerry have two girls Cathy and Karen. It has been a nice thing for both they and I. I needed them and they needed me. We have a nice big home at the edge of town, or at least it was at the edge. California has outgrown everything imaginable and our city has gone from a sleepy village that it was when we came here fifty-two years ago to a huge city. It has been fun going into this and I am hoping you will keep in touch with me. If you are ever out our way do come by. Sincerely yours, s Fearn Chatham."

According to a letter written by a Eunice Snapp on August 4, 1981to the author of the source, Fearn lived with her daughter and was going on vacation at her son William's home in Atascadero when she became ill. She had to have surgery. She came through the procedure just fine, but really never woke up enough to know it was over. She had surgery in the morning and died around 9:00 p.m. God was good to her for she did not want to be an invalid. She was the dearest, sweetest, stubborn and independent person. She had many friends, but most of them were gone before her. She would have been 92 in two more days. The hospital she was at was in Templeton, California, but her home was in Ventura where she had lived for many years. She and her best friend were the two oldest members of their church.
