Matthew Adams Jr, 92, was born May 23, 1919 to Matthew Adams, Sr. and Sara Adams in Hoffman, OK. He had two brothers, JC Adams and George Adams, who both preceeded him in death.
After completing his primary education, Matthew enlisted in the United State Army and served in World War II. While serving in the military, he met and married Odessa Price. In this union, three children were created: daughter, Nancy Adams, son, Matthew John Adams, who preceeded him in death, and daughter, Shelly Adams, who also preceeded him in death. Matthew and Odessa were married for nine years prior to Odessa's untimely death at the age of thirty-four.
Matthew then met and married Dora Maye Williams in 1951. This union created six children, Rose Henderson, Richard Adams, John Adams, James Adams, Lawrence Adams and Linda Adams.
Matthew worked as a truck driver and construction worker. He became very skilled in carpentry and went into business for himself. He was also interested in real estate and purchased several homes in which he renovated and rented throughout his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Dora Maye, his devoted wife of sixty years; children: Nancy Adams Hawthorne, Rose Henderson, Richard Adams, John Adams, James Adams, Lawrence Adams and Linda Adams. He leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
