Frank was the son of Alexander Lawrence and Mary Sleath. Frank is identified on the 1880 US Census in Madison, Guernsey, Ohio living with his parents and seven siblings, Maggie, William, Lizzie, Albert, Nona, Robert, and Anna. He married Mary Mack. Frank and Mary had at least six children, Ralston, Nellie, Leroy, Jennie, Edna and James Franklin, Jr. Frank was a farmer.

LAWRENCE - March 5, 1897, at his home, near Antrim, O., of consumption, J. Frank Lawrence, in the 38th year of his age.

He was the eldest son of Alexander and Mary Lawrence. Was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Antrim, serving faithfully as a deacon twelve years. A wife and four children mourn his loss.
