Sister Mary Hedwig
Sister Mary Hedwig of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity died Monday in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, Wis. Born in Trenton she was the former Mary Nacel. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Rose Phelan, Mrs. Helen Chester, Mrs. Martha Brecko, and Mrs. Margaret Bialota, and a brother Bernard Nacel, all of Trenton. Services were held in Wisconsin.
Sister M. Hedwig, 78, of Holy Family Convent, Alverno, died Monday afternoon
at Holy Family Hospitall, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The
Rev. Ronald Kirk, O Praem, will officiate and burial will be in the convent
cemetery.
Sister M. Hedwig was born Feb. 11, 1891, at Trenton, N.J. daughter of the late
Frank and Anna Welke Nacel. She entered Holy Family Convent March 26, 1908,
professing her vows July 6, 1912.
She is survived by a brother, Bernard, and four sisters, Mrs. Martha Brecko,
Mrs. Rose Phelan, Mrs. Helen Chester and Mrs. Louis Bialota, of New Jersey.
Friends may all(sic) at the convent from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Arrangements are by Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
