David Joseph Abell, 46, of 2841 Balsam Ave, died Sunday (August 26, 2007) near Dougherty, in a motorcycle accident.

David Joseph Abell was born February 9, 1961 at Cedar Rapids, the son of William T. and Mary E. (Staudt) Abell. He was united in marriage to Karen M. Weiner on October 1, 1983 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Rockford.

He attended Rudd Rockford Marble Rock area Schools, graduating from Rockford Senior High in 1979. David farmed in the Dougherty area all his life and also worked at Winnebago Industries, Charles City.

He was involved as a board member of the Rockford Booster Club, where he helped with youth wrestling tournaments. He also served on the board of the Marble Rock summer ball program, where he coached his sons baseball teams. David enjoyed his motorcycle and especially attending his children's activities.

David is survived by, his mother, Mary Abell, Dougherty; two sons, Dylan Donald Abell, Iowa City; Justin Theodore Abell, Rockford; a daughter, Alexandra Elaine Abell, Rockford; a sister, Patrice Catherine Abell Aleff and her husband Ross Allyn Aleff, Pine Island, Minn; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Ted and Mary Abell, George and Mary Staudt, and his father, William T. Abell on November 26, 1989.
