NEWPORT - Hilda M. McGann, 89, died Dec. 12, 2011, at Pittsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Bangor, daughter of George and Daisy (Grant) Terrill. She was a graduate of Brewer High School. She was married to James P. McGann, who predeceased her in 1977.

Hilda retired at age 65 from Ethan Allen, Burnham, after many years of employment.

She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Mitchell of Stetson and Carol Foley of Newport; one son, Eugene McGann of Tennessee; one brother and his wife, Chester and Annie Terrill of Hermon; one sister and her husband, Avis and Frank Mower of Bangor; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
