When Larry arrived in Vietnam 24 January 1968, he was assigned to B Company, 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 11th Aviation Group, 1st Calvary Division, USARV.
Larry was a door gunner aboard a UH-1D #66-16564, when he died as a result of a hostile gunshot to the body before the UH-1D crashed and burned on a ridgeline 7 kilometers south southwest of Phong Dien.
SP5 Iannetta served his country for 2 years.
Survived by his parents, Mr & Mrs Virgil H Iannetta of 14311 Southeast Bunnell Avenue, Milwaukie, Oregon.
