GOOCH - Elijah Gooch, aged 23, died after a protracted illness at his home in the Gilberts Creek section Saturday evening and was buried Sunday after services at the church by Elds. J. G. Livingston and F. M. Tinder. Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lilburn Gooch and was an exceptionally good young man. He was a twin and his brother James and he very much resembled. They were a devoted pair and he and the other members of the family are almost crushed by their loss. May He Who doeth all things well help them in their dark hour of trouble.

CARD OF THANKS - We desire to express our sincere thanks to our many friends for many acts of kindness in ministering to our dear departed son in his long illness and will ever hold them in grateful remembrance for their words of condolence and sympathy.
Mr. and Mrs. Lilburn Gooch

FRIDAY, MARCH 5, 1909
After a long illness Elijah R. Gooch, aged 23 years, passed over the river Saturday, February 6, to rest under the shade of the ever-vernal trees, beside the still waters in the land of the redeemed. The dark angel of death has plucked another flower and transplanted it in the Garden of Life above. Weep not mother, father and brothers for God hath given him life eternal and he now walks the gold-paved streets of the New Jerusalem. He was a devout member of the Christian church. Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock Elds. J. G. Livingston and F. M. Tinder preached the funeral sermon at Goshen church, after which all that was mortal of him was laid to rest in the Goshen cemetery. May God throw his everlasting arms around the distressed and help them in their dark hour of trouble.
