SALEM - Douglas E. Oliver, 56, of Salem, Oregon went home to be with Jesus on Sunday November 20, 2011.

He was born November 10, 1955 in San Diego Naval Hospital California, to Henry Marion Oliver and Norma Louise Oliver and he was raised and educated in Silverton Oregon. He married Terry February 2, 2008 in Salem Oregon. His profession was a Black Smith for Ulven Forging Co. for 37 years and his hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping with his buddies.

Doug loved the Lord with all his heart, body, mind, soul and spirit. He enjoyed to worship and praise the Lord daily and loved praying and being a servant of God for people. He was a humble, kind, loving and a sweet Uncle, Brother, Best Friend, Father and a very loving Husband to his precious wife Terry Oliver.

In 2009 he and Terry went on a mission trip to Paris and was looking forward to continue to be a faithful servant to do God's will.

In Doug's last word's to his wife Terry he said "If I should go home today to be with Jesus I want you to stay faithful and continue on serving the Lord, and winning souls to Jesus. Help the needy, the poor and sick of the world and show the love of God. Be the light. Amen."

Doug is survived by his loving wife Terry Oliver and step daughters Tammy, Jessica and Juliana, brother, Karl Robert Oliver, Henry Raymond Oliver; sister, Laura Lee Oliver; grandchildren, Alyssa, Koko, Kaykay and Gregory. Doug was predeceased by father Henry Marion Oliver, mother Norma Louise Furber Oliver, brothers; Richard Beals, Charles Oliver and only son Douglas Edgar Oliver Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 3 at 11:00 am at The People's Church on Lancaster Drive in Salem. Arrangements by Howell Edwards Doersksen Funeral Directors.
